Want to find out how many folks here like to play around on the 6m band. I have some old PRC-6's sitting in the crawlspace, and have thought about re-crystalling, and making some battery packs to get them functional again.

Mon, December 19, 2005 - 9:14 PMI have two radio's that can work 6m. I almost never hear anything on 6 and I have spent hours calling CQ. I made it as far as Texas but most contacts are in my state. Antenna is a dipole and 100w output. Yet almost nothing

Tue, December 20, 2005 - 9:06 AMI've had great fun on 6 through the years, and was chasing VUCC at one point. I haven't done it lately, but perhaps this spring, when Es and meteor season returns.
It can be a fun band. I know a number of people love running FM on it, as well.

Tue, December 20, 2005 - 7:41 PMWe have a 6m repeater on 53.725, but my SWR on 6m is really bad and the reflected power really makes a mess of the electronics in my computer.
